New Rules
Llandegfedd, Ynysyfro and Pantyreos Reservoirs
Access to Llandegfedd, Ynysyfro and Pantyreos will be by permit only. Permits will cost £6 per annum and are available from the Rangers' office at Llandegfedd. Each permit holder will receive a car sticker which must be displayed when visiting any of the sites. The renewal date for permits will be 1st March each year.
At Llandegfedd, from 1st March to 31st October, the gates will open at 0800 hrs, and close at sunset. Any birder visiting the site during this period will require a permit, but not a key.
For the period 1st November to end of February, any birder visiting Llandegfedd will require a key. Keys will also be required to visit Ynysyfro and Pantyreos throughout the year. Opening hours at Llandegfedd during the winter period will be 0900 hrs. to 1600hrs.
Locks for all the sites will be provided by Welsh Water.
Keys can be obtained from the Rangers' office at Llandegfedd until 1st November or after which from the ECAR office at Sluvad (Llandegfedd) Treatment Works. A fee of £5 will be payable for each key. The keyholders' names will be kept on a list to be held by site staff. Keys will not be transferable. The key should be given to you at the time of purchase
The same key will fit the locks on all the sites.
In order to prevent locks being left open, the type of lock used will be such that the key can only be withdrawn when the lock is closed.
Access during the period 1600hrs to 0900hrs will not be permitted at Llandegfedd. During these hours a high security lock will also be fitted.
