Gold cliff Lagoons

Main Sighting: Ruff
Sorry this is a late report due to problems accessing the site - now resolved, but I thought it was worth submitting for the record. Amongst all the other waders sheltering at an early high tide were three Ruff in breeding plumage. I was going to describe them but realised its going to be better to just post a link to the video. In the still photographs that I took the plumage of the Ruff with an orange face which looks black in the video actually looks purple where it catches the light. The video is here:- https://youtu.be/Yjl7CTmXUbU

Peterstone Gout

Main Sighting: Green Sandpiper
A green sandpiper and greenshank passing by this morning. Good swift movement with 632 birds during a 3h count. (received wisdom is that these are likely to be subadult pre-breeders moving off the breeding grounds a few weeks ahead of the breeding adults and young). A very odd vis-mig record was a treecreeper, only slightly more unusual than an adult male stonechat flyby two days ago.
