GLWR Goldcliff

Main Sighting:
Goldcliff, thurs a.m. Good nos knot, dunlin, fewer Black-wits, no greenshank, spot reds, only "spassage wader"s juv curlew sand. Saltmarsh lane, 1 Merlin, 3 Stonechats, 1 Whinchat, Greylag Goose.

Llandegfedd Reservoir

Main Sighting:
Visited Llandegfedd Reservoir (1.10.03 - morning). Walked from I think its the Blue Pool (from the north east restricted area), covered the north, and west banks, the west inlets, up the lane to Sluvad Road. The count didn'st include the east banks, or the dam end. Very quiet, at least 16 fishing boats dotted about. Birds present included 12 Great Crested Grebe, 2 Cormorant, 5 Grey Heron 56 Canada Geese, 3 Mallard, 2 Buzzard, 2 Lapwing, 49 Herring Gulls, 52 Black Headed Gulls, 16 Meadow Pipits, 1 Tree Pipit, 92 Goldfinch, 5 Jay, and 6 Raven. Feeding station virtually empty, watched for 10 minutes - no birds visited.

Gobion

Main Sighting:
Gobion Up-date. Back to the 30th September, 2 Snipe, 4 Green Sandpipers, 1 Common Sandpiper, 30 plus Linnet, 3 Little Grebe, 2 Kingfishers, Loads and Loads of Grey Wagtail, 20 plus Meadow Pipits, Today 1/10/03. 4 Snipe,Marsh Tit, 10 plus Swallows, Tree Creeper, Goldcrest, 3 Goosander.
