Joined at this point by Blair Jones and John Lawton – shoveler 2, kestrel hovering, glossy ibis showing well from snipe platform then went onto the mudflats to feed before returning to the lagoons, common sandpiper 1, lt grebe 1 juv, kingfisher (showed twice), chiffchaff 2 (contact calls), tufted duck 1, hobby over briefly, whimbrel (1 on mudflats), greenshank 1, redstart (on hedge leading to sea wall) and whitethroat 1. Lepidoptera: numerous meadow browns and fresh gatekeepers, small tortoiseshell 1, red admiral 1, large skipper 1, small white 2.
