Forest farm Country Park

Main Sighting: Little Bunting
Went back to forest farm What A day,Little Bunting still around viewed for about 25mins got some great photo's.Other birds Viewed coal tit blue tit great tit reed bunting robin greater spotted woodpecker water rail snipe nuthatch moorhen grey heron coot dunock wren mallard jay raven Magpie Blackbird.Alas no kingfishers

At Nedern: 2 Gadwall, 60+ Wigeon, 50+ Teal, 4 Tufted Duck, 2 Pochard, 30+ Mallard, 24 Shelduck, 17 Coot, 3 Little Grebes, 18 Redshank, 5 Lapwing, 6 Little Egrets.

Forest Farm Country Park

Main Sighting: snipe
What a day at this country park,on the first hide a snipe feeding between the reeds.Then on the new hide by the farm the following coal tit,great tit blue tit bullfinch reed bunting robin blackbird little bunting grey heron No kingfishers this time,The little bunting has been confirmed by other birders also recorded in the daily log book.I have been told it has a white ring around its eye.I am going back on Friday to see again and take a photo

Peterstone sluice farm

Main Sighting: Shelduck
Very windy and not many birds showing. Shelduck numbers however totalled 203 - my highest ever count along this stretch of coastline for this species. Also of note, 136 teal, 11 pintail out on the high tide, 72 wigeon, 2 little egrets and 2 oystercatchers. Good numbers of pied wagtails feeding but no whites amongst them. 2 goldcrests in the trees adjacent to the gold course.

Peterstone Gout to Sluice Farm

Main Sighting: Water Pipits
At the Gout: 56 Pintail, 85 Teal, 134 Redshank, 20 Dunlin. At the Church foreshore: 1 summer plumage Water Pipit and 1 Rock Pipit.Similar pipits at SF ( N.G.). On the saltmarsh: 120 Shelduck, c.200 Curlew ( N.G.),usual numbers of Oyster Catcher, Lapwing and Redshank. 1 Kestrel.

Newport Wetlands Goldcliff

Main Sighting: Spotted Redshank
A Spotted Redshank in the early stages of summer plumage. Knot 1 Dunlin 4 Snipe 1 Black-tailed Godwit 68 Greenshank 2 Redshank 40 Gadwall 2 Bar-headed Goose 1 a Wheatear was reported on the mud pile by the farm. Buzzard 2 Chiffchaff 4
