6 red grouse flushed on managed moors plus 3 red kite 1 kestrel a buzzard trio and 2 woodcock near dusk .. big flocks of wood pigeon heading over biggest 150 birds (block counted )

Brambling calling Gt crested grebe off jetty and Black rock when flew upstream almost certain Goosander fem downstream but sun in eyes

Main sighting: Kestrels and Marsh Harriers

Afternoon visit until sunset. 2 x Marsh Harries ( 1 m 1 f). 2 x Kestrel (1 m 1 f). 1 x Peregrine ( on Monks).
Sunset coming off the mud – 60c Redshank, 1 x Knot in with them roosting on Priors Lagoon. Circling out on the estuary flock of 40+ Oystercatchers.
Also of note – Curlews, 2 x Stone Chats and 1 x Pied Wagtail. 1 x Avocet ( on Becs)
Wigeon increasing in numbers and lots of Mute Swans (17).
Lots of Woodpigeons moving through. Cettis are still calling.

Lots of migrant activity this afternoon with a flock of 64 siskin, 48 chaffinches, 28 redwings and song thrushes mixed in and numerous blackbirds.

A pair of Goshawks watched around 8.30am circling together before splitting up. The female drifted off south and the male drifted off over the nearby forestry plantation.

I saw two swans yesterday from Sudbrook on the Severn but they were to far away to identify near the new bridge on the north side which could have included the Whooper seen today anyway they were on the Gloucester side
